Dr Mairi Emerson-Smith, is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, who has worked in multiple NHS Autism and ADHD assessment clinics, with adults and children with neurodevelopmental differences. She has 15 years clinical NHS experience, working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental differences, such as Autism, ADHD, developmental delay, learning difficulties, and mental health issues.
After completing her four-year MA at the University of Edinburgh, with a specialism in Clinical Neuropsychology, she studied a two-year Child Development MSc, at the University of London in conjunction with the Tavistock Clinic and Anna Freud Centre. This is where her passion for understanding childhood development fostered. She then went on the study a three-year Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Essex.
Dr Mairi Emerson-Smith has additional training and experience in specific NICE gold standard assessment tools for autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties, such as the WISC, ADOS, ADI-R, QB-Test, AAA, and 3Di.
Passionate about providing an individualised high quality service, the acceptance of difference, and has a special interest in females presentations of autism and ADHD, and masking and camouflaging.
