Health records you send to us through completing data on google forms, is stored securely on google business workplace servers. Google state they properly secure their data and respect the privacy of the information they place in their systems. Google state that they have spent years developing one of the world’s most advanced and secure infrastructures.
Your data is also held on password protected staff laptops, and backed up on an external hard drive, which is stored securely.
The clinical psychologist has primary use of your data. In some circumstances administrative staff and practice management staff handle your data, such as receiving and storing data. Where possible these staff are not permitted to read personal health record data.
We comply with legal requirements under applicable laws.
We shall retain your data only for as long as necessary in accordance with applicable laws. HCPC states that independent psychologists keep records relating to contact with adults for 7 years and follow NHS guidance in relation to children. Retention and destruction of health records, both paper and electronic, is covered in the NHS code of practice for records management. Retention is until age 26 for people seen as children, and 20 years after the last contact for adults. After this, we shall securely delete your data.
We may process data for statistical purposes, but in such cases, data will be anonymised.
